Part D drug plans in Kansas
12 standalone Part D prescription drug plans are available statewide in Kansas for 2027, with monthly premiums starting around $5.30. Every Part D plan caps your out-of-pocket drug costs at $2,400 for the year. The plan that’s cheapest for you depends on your exact prescriptions and pharmacy. See our Part D guide.
Medigap rules in Kansas
Kansas follows the federal Medigap rules. Your best time to buy a Medicare Supplement is your six-month Medigap Open Enrollment Period. It starts the month you are 65 or older and enrolled in Part B. During that window, companies can’t turn you down or charge more because of your health.
After that window, companies may ask health questions unless you have a guaranteed-issue right. For example, you may have one if your Medicare Advantage plan leaves your area, or if you try Medicare Advantage for the first time and switch back within 12 months. Kansas does not have Missouri’s annual “anniversary” switch, so getting the plan right up front matters.
